The White Desert is five hours from Cairo on a good road. Siwa is nine, via the coast. That alone decides it for most families.
How they feel
The White Desert is a landscape: chalk towers, sunsets, one magical night. Siwa is a place: people, gardens, springs, a town to wander. Both end in a night under the stars.
